Bible 101 taught at Crown Point Library
CROWN POINT – Bible 101, a historical and practical perspective of the Holy Bible, will be taught at the Crown Point Library, 122 North Main Street, starting Tuesday, March 5. Led by the Rev. David Kipp, associate pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church and School, the six week course runs from 9:30 AM to 12 Noon.
After the Trinity pastor learned that 80 percent of the people who own Bibles do not read or understand the world's largest selling book, Kipp, who also teaches a similar class for adults at Merrillville High School, has ventured out to give those owners a clearer understanding of scriptures. Professionals in public relations to participate in Church P. R. Workshop
CROWN POINT – The Board of Communication Services at Trinity Lutheran Church and School, 250 S Indiana Ave, will host its second annual Communication / Public Relations Workshop on Saturday, March 16 from 8:30 AM to 12 Noon. The seminar is free and open to representatives of area churches and their various ministries.
Participating in this years event are Damien Rico, editor of The Times Community News and Diane Poulton, a correspondent for The Times, who will speak on using social media marketing and writing press releases respectively. Also participating is Edda Taylor of Edda Taylor Photographie who will speak in photography usage, Dr. Kari-Anne Innes of Valparaiso University, who will speak on Special Event Marketing, Kristen Kearney. webmaster at Immanuel Lutheran Church and Bob Michalak, webmaster at Trinity Lutheran Church and School, who will speak on website design and administration, and Dan Matalin of Dan Matalin Signs, who will speak on signage and sign marketing. Dennis Hodges, chair of the board will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

Trinity Lutheran offers Contemporary Christmas Service
CROWN POINT – Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and School at 250 S. Indiana Ave is offering a Contemporary Christmas Service on December 24, Christmas Eve. The service will begin at 9:00 PM and include the music of Brandon Grelle's band and vocalists, and a Christmas message by senior pastor David Easterday.
Held in the school gymnasium. the service also includes descriptive graphics on a large screen. Trinity is just one of a few mainline Christian churches in Northwest Indiana to offer this format, and the service has grown in popularity over the past couple years. On Sunday mornings, the church also provides for contemporary worship service opportunities at 8:15 AM and 10:30 PM.
A Family Christmas Eve service will be held at Trinity Lutheran, beginning at 6:00 PM, and a traditional candlelight worship service, starting at 11:00 PM. For additional information, call 219-663-1578 or visit www.trinitycp.org.
