What We Believe
Trinity Lutheran Church in Crown Point is part of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod and the global Christian community. We’re here to share and live out the love of the Triune God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in one God, made up of three persons:
God the Father, who made everything.
Jesus, God’s Son, who became human, died for our sins, and rose again—defeating death and the power of evil.
The Holy Spirit, who helps us believe by working through God’s Word and the Sacraments.
These three, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are equal, eternal, and together they are one God.
Our teaching can be summarized in these three phases
God loves everyone in the world, even though people do wrong, turn away from Him, and don’t deserve His love. He sent His Son, Jesus, to care for those who are hard to love and to save those who do wrong.
Through His suffering and death in place of everyone, Jesus won forgiveness and eternal life for all people. Those who hear this Good News and believe it receive the eternal life it promises. God creates faith in Christ and offers forgiveness through Him.
The Bible is God’s perfect and trustworthy Word, where He shares His teachings and the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. It is the only guide for Christian beliefs.
